Release Announcements

Enhanced Checkout Java Applet

We announced in 18R1 that we will no longer provide updates or bug fixes for the Enhanced Checkout Java applet in 2019. The applet is no longer officially supported by Veeva, and in 19R3 we will disable it completely. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you would like to learn more about this.

The new Vault File Manager functionality became available in 18R2, and we encourage you to begin using Vault File Manager. Vault File Manager has a number of enhanced abilities, including bulk checkout and bulk check-in, and we plan to include the Enhanced Checkout applet’s capability to auto-open files upon download, or to check in via the document’s action menu in an upcoming release. For now, it allows you to check in directly from the Vault File Manager desktop application instead. Please remember that Vault File Manager only supports Windows™.

Internet Explorer 11 Support

In January 2020, we will no longer support Internet Explorer™ 11 on Windows 7. We encourage all Veeva customers to upgrade to a newer browser. Learn more about supported browsers for Vault.

Definitions

  • Pre-Release: This is a three* or four-week period prior to the general availability of the next major release (17R1, etc.). During this period, customers can explore the new features in a vault based on their production vault configurations.
  • PODs: POD stands for “point of delivery”. In simple terms, think of them as the Vault application servers where each vault is hosted. To confirm your POD, you can log into your vault as an administrator and navigate to Admin > Settings > General Settings and look at the POD field.
