18R1 Data Model Changes: Platform

With every release, we update the data model to better support evolving needs and new feature functionality. With this release, we’ve added the following components to the data model. These data model updates are automatically included in all Vaults, but Admins must make configuration changes to make them available. For information on feature functionality, see What’s New in 18R1.

As part of standardizing the configuration across all Vault applications, we’ve made the following changes to standard configuration in all vaults:

  • Added checksumGenerationComplete (checksumgenerationcomplete__v) document message template related to Duplicate Content Detection feature.
  • Added binderExportComplete (binder_export_complete__v) and binderExportFail (binder_export_fail__v) document message templates related to Binder Export feature.
  • Enabled the Copy Depth (copy_depth__v) document field, which tracks how far a copied document is from the Original Source.
  • Added the Binder Section Metadata (binder_metadata__v) object, Binder Auto-filing Complete (dynamic_autofiling_complete__v) document message template, and Binder Auto-filing Refresh Complete (dynamic_autofiling_refresh_complete__v) document message template related to the Dynamic Binder Auto-Filing feature.
  • Added various items related to the CrossLinks feature:
    • CrossLink (crosslink__v) document field
    • Latest Source Major Version (latest_source_major_version__v) document field
    • Latest Source Minor Version (latest_source_minor_version__v) document field
    • Source Binding Rule (source_binding_rule__v) document field
    • Source Document Name (source_document_name__v) document field
    • Source Number (source_document_number__v) document field
    • Source Link (source_link__v) document field
    • Source Owner (source_owner__v) document field
    • Source Vault Name (source_vault_name__v) document field
    • CrossLink: Create CrossLink permission in permission sets
  • Added various items related to the Legal Hold feature:
    • Legal Hold (legal_hold__v) object
    • Legal Hold Item (legal_hold_item__v) object
    • Legal Hold Lifecycle (legal_hold_lifecycle__v) object lifecycle, including lifecycle states and actions
    • legalHoldUniversalApplySuccess_b (legalhold_universal_apply__v) object message template
    • legalHoldReevaluateSuccess_b (legalhold_reevaluate_apply__v) object message template
  • Added the Batch (batch__v) object, related to the Batch Review & Approval feature
  • Added various items related to EDL:
    • EDL (edl__v) object
    • EDL Item (edl_item__v) object
    • EDL Template (edl_template__v) object
    • EDL Item Template (edl_item_template__v) object
    • Parent field on EDL and EDL Template objects; this field is only usable if the EDL Template Hierarchy feature is enabled.
  • Added the Country (country__v) object; this object did not previously exist on all Vault Platform vaults.
  • Added the following standard document fields to support the Controlled Document Templates feature:
    • Template Document Type (template_document_type__v). This is a shared field.
    • Template Document (template_document__v). This is a hidden base field.
  • Added the Report (report__sys) object to support the Enhanced Reports Tab feature.
  • Added the Report Lifecycle (report_lifecycle__sys) for the Report (report__sys) object to facilitate Flash Report security in support of the Enhanced Reports Tab feature. This lifecycle is not currently visible in Admin.
  • Added the following permissions to support the Enhanced Reports Tab feature:
    • Object > Report > Read
    • Object > Report > Create
    • Object > Report > Edit
    • Object > Report > Delete
  • Added the following fields to the Performance Statistics (perf_stats__v) object to support Veeva Snap:
    • Snap Document Count (snap_doc_count__v)
    • Snap Document Total (snap_doc_total__v)
