Notifications Opt-In

As a valued member of our community, providing you with control over the communications you receive from Veeva is important to us. Enhancements to SAML Login

With this release, Vault will start validating that the SAML profile that receives a SAML response matches the authenticated user’s SAML profile. If the identity provider sends SAML responses to an incorrect SAML profile, Vault will prevent the user from logging in and the user will see the following error:

SAMLAssertionConsumerServlet: Cannot authenticate user Unknown macro: {user}

This may occur even when the SAML profile is within the same Vault domain.

For any customers for whom we detected that this would have blocked users’ login ability in the past three (3) months, Veeva has automatically disabled this feature. If your vault is in this group, Veeva representatives will contact your organization and work with you to update your identity provider configuration so that this security enhancement can be enabled.

Enhanced Checkout Java Applet

We announced in 18R1 that we will no longer provide updates or bug fixes for the Enhanced Checkout Java applet in 2019. The applet is no longer officially supported by Veeva, and in 19R3 we will disable it completely. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you would like to learn more about this.

Vault File Manager became available in 18R2, and we encourage you to begin using this application. Vault File Manager has a number of enhanced abilities, including bulk checkout and bulk check-in. 19R3 introduces additional features for Vault File Manager. Please remember that Vault File Manager only supports Windows™.

Internet Explorer 11 Support

In January 2020, we will no longer support Internet Explorer™ 11 on Windows 7. We encourage all Veeva customers to upgrade to a newer browser. Learn more about supported browsers for Vault.

20R1 Pre-Release

The 19R3 release includes new functionality that will allow Admins to create their own pre-release vaults for the 20R1 release. The Self-Serve Pre-Release Vaults feature uses existing sandbox administration options.

Veeva IP Addresses

Beginning in June 2019, we will be utilizing additional IP address ranges as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements. These changes will occur over time, starting with Limited Release PODs. If your organization relies on whitelisting by IP address, you will need to contact Veeva Support for an updated list of addresses.

See Veeva IP Addresses for information on whitelisting.

Definitions

Pre-Release
This is a three* or four-week period prior to the general availability of the next major release (21R1, 21R2, etc.). During this period, customers can explore the new features in a Vault based on their production Vault configurations.
PODs
POD stands for “point of delivery”. In simple terms, think of them as the Vault application servers where each Vault is hosted. To confirm your POD, you can log into your Vault as an administrator and navigate to Admin > Settings > General Settings and look at the POD field.
