18R1 Data Model Changes: PromoMats & MedComms

With every release, we update the data model to better support evolving needs and new feature functionality. With this release, we’ve added the following components to the data model. These data model updates are automatically included in all Vaults, but Admins must make configuration changes to make them available. For information on feature functionality, see What’s New in 18R1.

As part of Vault’s efforts to provide better functionality and standardize configuration across PromoMats and MedComms, this release will introduce various data model items related to features that may not be enabled in every customer vault. These items will appear in Admin, but will not have any related functionality unless the related feature is enabled.

PromoMats

  • Added the following standard document types:
    • Compliance Package
    • Health Authority Form
  • Added the following standard objects:
    • Applicant (2253submissionapplication__v)
    • Application (pm_application__v)
    • Contact (pm_contact__v)
  • Added the following document fields to the Material (material__v) and Job (job__v) document types:
    • Material Type (material_type__v)
    • Dissemination/Publication Date (dissemination_publication_date__v)
  • Added the following document fields to the Compliance Package (compliance_package__v) document type:
    • Reg Comments to FDA (comments__v)
    • Secondary Brands (secondary_brands__v)
    • Responsible Official (pm_contact__v)

PromoMats & MedComms

  • Updated the following Brand Portal document fields from standard fields on the Base (base__v) document type to shared document fields:
    • Portal (portal__v)
    • Portal Widget (portal_widget__v)

PromoMats, MedComms & Multichannel

  • Added the following standard objects:
    • XML Element (xml_element__v)
    • Website (website__v)
  • Added the Public Content (public_content__v) document field to the Base (base__v) document type:
  • Added the following shared document fields. These fields are associated with the Component Asset document type in new vaults, but they are not automatically assigned to any document type in existing customer vaults.
    • Rights Channel (rights_channel__v)
    • Rights Countries (rights_countries__v)
    • Rights Expiration Date (rights_expiration_date__v)
    • Rights Language (rights_language__v)

  • Added the CRM Vault Metadata Sync (crm_vault_metadata_sync__v) field to the CRM Org (crm_org__v) object. In addition, the Integrations (integrations__v) field is no longer required on this object.
  • Added the following fields and configuration changes to the Survey (survey__v), Directory (directory__v), and Content Type (crm_content_type__v) objects to support the Vault Metadata Sync feature:
    • CRM Org (crm_org__v)
    • CRM ID (crm_id__v)
    • Values no longer have to be unique on the External ID (external_id__v) field.
    • Maximum text length for External ID (external_id__v) updated to 255 characters.
  • Added the WeChat Content (wechat_content_wec__v) and Shareable in WeChat (shareable_in_wechat_wec__v) shared document fields to support Engage integration and the Veeva CRM feature, Approved WeChat. These fields are used in the Multichannel Presentation (multichannel_presentation__v) document type.
  • Added the Medical Events Template (medical_events_template__v) picklist value to the Email Template Type (email_template_type__v) picklist.
  • The following Multichannel shared document fields are now visible:
