Client Application Release Schedule
Vault client application general releases are deployed at the same time as Vault general releases. General releases follow the Vault convention (for example, 20R1, 20R2, 20R3) and are released approximately every four (4) months. General releases go through IQ and OQ validation prior to release.
Note: QualityOne client applications, such as QualityOne Station Manager, QualityOne Mobile, and QualityOne Audit Checklist Mobile, release on a different schedule from Vault general releases. Learn more about QualityOne client application release dates.
Vault client application pre-releases are deployed at the same time as Vault pre-releases, three (3) to four (4) weeks prior to general availability. These pre-release versions are available through Vault Product Support. During the pre-release period, customers have an opportunity to explore the new version in a “pre-release Vault” based on their production configurations. The primary purpose of the pre-release Vault is to ensure current configuration behavior works the same in the new general release version.
Note: QualityOne client applications, such as QualityOne Station Manager, QualityOne Mobile, and QualityOne Audit Checklist Mobile, are not deployed for Vault pre-releases.
Note: Any user acceptance testing (UAT) or validation testing should be done in this pre-release period.
Note: Some Limited Releases include new features for Vault File Manager, but they are not automatically applied to the user’s installed Vault File Manager application until General Release. To test the new features ahead of time, a Limited Release version of the Vault File Manager application can be installed. This version should only be used for testing purposes, and only on Limited Release Vaults. Please contact Vault Product Support to access the Limited Release version of Vault File Manager.
See About Vault Releases and Pre-Release FAQ for more information.
Client Application Support
Customers should complete all user acceptance and validation testing during the pre-release period and deploy new client application versions to all clients no more than one week after general release. While new client application versions are being deployed, Veeva will continue to support the use of one previous major version. Support for use of the previous major version will end when the next major version is released. Veeva will not accept defect reports or enhancements for previous versions.
For example, customers can continue to use Veeva Snap 20R1 after Veeva Snap 20R2 is released. However, Veeva will not accept defect reports or enhancements for Veeva Snap 20R1 after Veeva Snap 20R2 is released. Once Veeva Snap 20R3 is released, the use of Veeva Snap 20R1 will no longer be supported.
